Safari Tour Details

We did a one-person budget shared group safari adventure for 6 nights and 7 days. Every day we had breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as drinking water and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day. We stopped at the appropriate places for our meals (including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and halal). Throughout our journey we had a professional, very knowledgeable guide with us with information to help us fully understand every aspect of our safari experience.

Transportation & Accommodation

The guide’s vehicle for our game drives is ideal for our safari tour: a safari jeep 4x4 with pop-up roof, radio, fridge with bottled water. The campsite facilities include a communal kitchen and bathrooms. Camping equipment for camping safaris include sleeping bags, mattresses, pillows and tents with guides and hosts to help you out with anything you need.

Overview of 7-Day Budget Shared Safari

Now let me walk you through our safari experience, which was both spectacular and memorable.

Our tour starts upon arrival at Arusha’s airport where our guides are waiting for us to drive us to our hotel. The adventure starts here because Arusha’s African Art Museum at the Cultural Heritage is worth visiting for all its beautiful art, paintings, sculptures and musical performances.

Located centrally, Arusha is our safari’s starting point. Here’s what my day-to-day itinerary looked like. You can make it yours, too.

Day 1: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

In the late afternoon we watch the gorgeous sunset over the breath-taking landscape before we have dinner, rest and sleep at the Nyani Campsite. Because of its prime location in the heart of Serengeti National Park, the Nyani Campsite facilitates access to its nature and wildlife. So much so, we had the wonderful experience of waking up with animals wandering and grazing through the camp. In our videos you can see what this looks like. We also had the precious experience of seeing the sunset in this beautiful part of nature. In our videos you can see what all these experiences look like.

About Serengeti National Park

One of the most beautiful parks in Africa, Serengeti National Park offers so much. We saw leopards and cheetahs hunting in the vast plains. How about ostriches running by. In the valleys we saw herds of gnus, buffaloes and zebras as well as elephant families. They’re so close, as you can see in our videos. One thing about Tanzania’s wildlife sanctuaries is that you don’t have to worry about not seeing animals—you’ll see them all. Serengeti National Park’s landscapes and nature are truly breath-taking indeed. Boasting gorgeous forests and wildlife, the Ngorongoro highlands offer impressive views of the vast sanctuary. In our videos you can see what Serengeti National Park looks like.

Day 2: From Serengeti National Park To Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Day 2: Because Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s largest natural reserve, we take our time and continue our game drive through the park to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This night we stay at the Ngorongoro Simba Campsite. The campsite is high on the crater rim so especially at sunrise and sunset you can enjoy incredible views. Its location facilitates early morning access to the crater with all its spectacular views and experiences. The campsite area has much vegetation so you can see zebras and waterbucks grazing both day and night. This is a unique experience and view. In our videos you can see what the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, its wildlife, campsite and all these experiences look like.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

We take our time to experience the impressive beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater. It’s a unique and beautiful experience to see the mist rising from the vast Crater early in the morning. From the early morning on we game drive all day to see all the beautiful animals in their natural habitat. The Ngorongoro Crater has abundant wildlife. Another highlight of the day is the sunset at the Crater. We enjoy a good rest and stay the night at a nice hotel in the area with all amenities, comfortable rooms, private bathrooms, mosquito nets, swimming pool and delicious food. In our videos you can see what the Ngorongoro Crater, its wildlife, the hotel and all these experiences look like.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park

We wake up early to continue our safari tour in Tanzania. Today, we visit Tarangire National Park. The game drive is marvelous. We get to see them all: lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests, giraffes, hippopotamuses, African buffaloes, gnus, zebras and elephants. Did we miss anyone? Oh yes, the warthogs, ostriches, jackals—there are simply too many to list here. We notice how each sanctuary has its own nature and landscapes. We enjoy a good rest and stay the night at a nice hotel in the area with all amenities, comfortable rooms, private bathrooms, mosquito nets, swimming and delicious food. In our videos you can see what Tarangire National Park, its wildlife, landscapes, the hotel and all these experiences look like.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park

:e continue our safari tour through Lake Manyara National Park. This lake area is very special and beautiful so we take our time to absorb all its splendor. It’s famous for its elephants roaming the forests as well as its many olive baboons. See the baboons for yourself in our videos. You can see lions rest among the forest trees at close range. We enjoy a good rest and stay the night at a nice hotel in the area with all amenities, comfortable rooms, private bathrooms, mosquito nets, swimming pool and delicious food. In our videos you can see what Lake Manyara National Park, its wildlife, landscapes, the hotel and all these experiences look like.

Day 6: Lake Eyasi & Hadzabe People

We continue our safari tour to Lake Eyasi where we find the natural habitat of hippopotamuses. From here you can see and visit the Kidero Mountains and the Eyasi escarpment. In the Lake Eyasi area, you can also do a cultural tour visiting the traditional Hadzabe people who live in the area. Check out our videos with the Hadzabe people. Enjoy a good rest and stay the night at a nice hotel in Arusha with all amenities and delicious food. In our videos you can see what Lake Eyasi, its wildlife, landscapes, the area, the Hadzabe people and hotel and all these experiences look like.

Day 7: Materuni Waterfalls & Kilimanjaro Hot Springs

Our last day we have a delicious breakfast to spend the day in the Materuni area and its waterfalls. The beautiful Materuni Waterfalls are located in the forests and mountains north of the city of Moshi. There, the waters cascade down off the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. During our drive to the waterfalls, we could enjoy marvelous views of Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s a full day of beautiful experiences, hiking through the mountains, tasting coffee and relaxing at the gorgeous waterfalls. In our videos you can see what the Materuni Waterfalls, its area, landscapes and hotel and all these experiences look like. Our guides drive us back to the airport or hotel. This is where our tours end.
